Twistout 101

Janet Gilbert

Are you tired of looking at youtube videos wondering why your twistout is not coming out right? I know firsthand how frustrating this can be. No matter what products you use or how many tutorials you watch, nothing you do works. But help is on the way! I am going to give you some tips that will help you achieve a bomb twistout:

1. First and most importantly, allow your twists to completely dry before unraveling them. When you take your twists down while they are still wet, you will more than likely experience a little bit of frizz. Leave them in for a day to ensure they are dry or sit under a hooded dryer for a quicker process.

2. Speaking of frizz, separate your twists carefully with oil when taking them down to prevent frizz.

3. Carefully and thoroughly detangle your hair before twisting. I like to detangle in sections to provide a smoother detangling process. Remember to start at the ends when detangling.

4. Apply product to each section and make sure your ends are moisturized before twisting.

*Bonus Tip:

Use Carrie J Twisting Butter for a well-defined, soft, and shiny twistout. :)

Try these tips when you do your next twistout and let us know if they work! Now, what are some tips that you use to achieve a bomb twistout?
