Our Top 5 Healthy Hair Tips

Janet Gilbert

If you have been following us, by now you know our tagline is "healthy hair matters." We truly believe healthy hair does matter, which is why we create products to assist you with obtaining healthy hair. Aside from the products, we want to educate as well on how to maintain healthy hair. So here are our top five healthy hair tips:

1. Deep Conditioning

Deep conditioning improves the overall health of your hair. We suggest deep conditioning weekly if your hair has a hard time obtaining moisture. Deep conditioning has many benefits such as preventing breakage, eliminating split ends, adding shine, and moisturizing.

2. Trimming

Damaged ends can stall your hair growth. Trimming helps decrease breakage which means more growth! Trimming when needed also makes detangling a lot easier.

3. Protective Styling

Protective styling is an easy way to avoid breakage. They are usually low maintenance hairstyles such as twists, braids, or even sew-ins. There are many benefits of protective styling such as: saves time, protects your ends, and keeps your hair soft and moisturized.

4. Avoid Using Too Much Heat

Using too much heat strips your hair of its moisture, which leaves an open opportunity for breakage. Cut down on heat by using hair rollers and air drying instead of blow drying. If you choose to blow dry or flat iron, do so on the lowest heat setting and use a heat protectant.

 5. Eating Nutritious Meals

Eating nutritious meals, drinking plenty of water, and taking vitamins can help strengthen your hair, prevent breakage, and gain length. Also, eating an adequate amount of protein is important for hair growth because hair follicles are made of mostly protein.

We hope that you will take these hair tips and incorporate them into your hair routine. Remember aside from quality products, consistency and maintenance is the key to growing long healthy hair.
